Many expecting parents will develop food cravings. These cravings can be manifested in the form of dreams like when a mother dreams of hotdogs and other foods.
These cravings can be in contradictory with your former tastes. If you used to be a vegetarian, and you are dreaming of eating meat while pregnant, then you obviously have developed these cravings. Aside from food, you can also develop cravings for drinks. Like if you’re a coffee drinker and you dreamed of drinking coke, juices, and milk. Caffeine in-take is not advisable by the way and if you’re a coffee drinker, you should stop drinking coffee for a while and resume your habit after you give birth.
Whatever it is that you’re craving for; experts believe that it’s probably your body telling you never to resort to foods, drinks of stuffs that are not beneficial for you and your baby and instead opt for those foods and drinks that are healthy and nutritious. Women who undergo pregnancy often testify to the changes they experience such as having a heightened sense of smell. A pregnant woman can smell someone else’s perfume or worse. Pregnant women can even smell the person at the other side of the room.
It may sound bizarre and these changes may lead to good or bad situations. But all these changes amount to the fact that they are directly linked to the cravings of a pregnant woman. Cravings, as the experts assert, can also be your body’s way of trying to make up for certain deficiencies in minerals.
As a point of concern, the experts would assert that it would be best for you to control these cravings to minimize any bad situations; trivial they may be. But generally, most of these cravings are perfectly fine for you and your baby.
