The miracle weapon
Our baby Logan has been giving us a hard time. He is high maintenance - no doubt about it. That poor baby is fighting the acid reflux pretty hard but at a price for us. Even putting him into his baby swing does not sooth him a little bit. He does not like the back and forth swinging. We assume it is because of the Acid Reflux and that it just pushes that stuff back up his throat. We had talked to the pediatrician and due to his weight increase she recommended to increase the dose of Zantac for the little guy.
A co-worker of mine mentioned another thing to try. One friend of hers had a baby with really bad acid reflux. She could not use a regular swing at all. She found this great swing made by Fisher Price. It swings sideway as well as you can have it swing back and forth. The sideways motion apparently was exactly what baby liked. For a few days we thought about getting one of those but the thought never materialized. Until Simone had another really rough day at home. On my way back home from work I stopped at the baby store and got one of these 'miracle swings' (that's how we call it).
And this thing really works wonder. Logan liked the swing. He finally had something that kept him happy and allowed us to have at least a few moments of peace. Logan even fell asleep in this swing while swinging sideways. The build-in "Mobile" and the music did catch his attention, too.
If you have a high maintenance baby (and we do not mean this in a bad way) that does not like to swing in a regular swing - try the Ocean Wonders Swing from Fisher Price. We bought it in the store and paid apparently way too much ($129.00 + tax) but you can get it from Amazon.com for a low $99.00 at the time of this writing.
Good Luck.
