Are Women Better Drivers?

Driving and kids safety is a big issue. Unfortunately too many children get hurt or killed in car accidents. And too often the driver has not made sure that the child was strapped in properly or made a poor judgment when allowing kids to roam around free in the back of the car. Some statistics put the blame on female drivers while others see men as the main group of drivers involved in accidents where kids got hurt or killed.

Are Women Better DriversOne of the main reasons is that we all consider our self’s as very good and safe drivers while in reality many of us should not be allowed to drive a vehicle. Statistics confirm this time after time. The problem is that the United States is not having decent requirements when it comes to student driver training. “We as a society” do not care enough about who teaches our teenage children driving. After all, we are all the best drivers, right?! You get the irony I am putting into that statement I assume. Now when these teenagers grow up and become parents many years after they will pass on the same knowledge to their kids. The problem is if the initial teacher was a bad driver the bad driving habits are being passed on.

Our children see us driving and they how we behave. We drive while texting or on the cell phone. We eat and drink while driving and we have “important” discussions while driving. We do anything that draws our attention away from the road to something else. And if we make a mistake we just look the other way and pretend it was not us who cut off the other driver. Or if we are stressed and make a mistake we yell rude comments at the innocent driver and show him the bird. And our children are sitting next to us or in the back and “learn” this behavior.

So, who is the better driver? Mom or Dad? Men or Women? Are men or women better drivers? Take the test – click here.
