Review: Photo Stamps with a picture of your baby
We ran into a promotion for Photo Stamps not too long ago and decided to give it a try. We have a little baby boy on our own and thought this must be a cool thing to have. Grandma's and Grandpa's would certainly freak out about seeing their grandchild on a stamp. Photo Stamps are real US Postage stamps. You just take your own image and turn it into a picture stamp. To create PhotoStamps all you need to do is upload a photo using their easy to use website interface. It did not take us very long to come up with our own designed photo stamp. The website interface allows you to customize your photo and do some really fun and crazy stuff. We spend actually some time just trying all the different tricks before setting on a final design. You may purchase Photo Stamps in one of seven different postage denominations ranging from 24 cent for postcards to 39 cent regular first class or even choose the $4.05 option for packages. This should provide you with plenty of variety to send out mailing using photo stamps. In our case we went with stamps for postcards and were really impressed with the final result. Some people we did sent the postcards to, did not notice the stamps, others were so excited, we got phone calls the moment the postcards arrived. 90% of our recipients had not seen these kind of stamps before.
We did some more research on this service. The company behind PhotoStamps, has been a United States Postal Service approved provider of PC postage since 1999. Photo Stamps itself seemed to be launched in 2004. The website looks very professional and is easy to navigate. The maker of PhotoStamps is trying to achieve the largest possible image display area while also making the overall stamp dimensions reasonable for most mailings. Each individual Photo Stamps postage label measures 1.9 inches in width and 1.4 inches in height, and the image area is 1.1 inches in width and 1.1 inches in height. In our case this worked very well on our postcards. We ordered our postcards with normal shipping to save some money and had the order completed and in our hands about a week later. Very reasonable in our opinion. Very cool was the offered money back guarantee. We did not need it though, but it makes you much more confident placing an order for a product you have never used before.
Pricing: Photo Stamps come per sheet and each sheet holds approx. 20 photo stamps. The first sheet costs $17.99 ($0.39 stamps) and additional sheets go for $15.99 each. For us the cost was different due to using postcards. The first sheet was $14.99 and additional ones cost us $12.99 each.
Conclusion: Photo Stamps are a cool way of showing off a new baby to friends and family. The product website is easy to use and an order is placed in no-time. The surprising results we saw in our family were awesome. The nice thing - photo stamps can be used for any occasion or even business purposes. Two thumbs up from us.
